Pleated skirts

Trend watch: Top 5 pleated skirts

This is a new one for me. Pleated skirts are big in the autumn/winter collections so I decided to bite the bullet and pick one up that I had my eye on but wouldn’t normally wear. It’s number one on this list, but I’ve included different lengths and styles to suit everyone’s taste.

New Look Sateen Pleated Midi Skirt | €29.99

I picked this up from New Look last weekend when I was supposed to be looking for new shoes (it happens to the best of us.) It’s out of my comfort zone but I just love how it feels so I picked it up for €30. It would be a great night out skirt with high heels and it’s also available in grey.

Boohoo Indira Boutique Pleated Tulle Maxi Skirt | €30

I love the idea of tulle skirts, and if you don’t want the full ballerina look, this is a gorgeous maxi to transition from summer to autumn. I love the colour of it too, but it’s also available in cream and black.

Oasis Faux Leather Skirt | €49

For something a little less feminine, there are plenty of faux leather and suede pleated skirts to add to your autumn/winter wardrobe. This burgundy faux leather mini would look great with tights and boots. It’s also available in black.

ASOS Pleated Mini Skirt | €33.33

If you still want to keep the light fabrics with a shorter pleated skirt, then this wine mini from ASOS would be perfect. Tight pleats are particularly popular this year so this one is on trend.

Boohoo Eeva Dipped Hem Full Scuba Midi Skirt | €22

This might be a slight cheat, but for those of you who aren’t that into a tight pleat, I couldn’t resist adding this to the list. This dipped hemline skirt is different, but not too different with just a few subtle, soft pleats and therefore, still very much on trend. I love it in black but it’s also available in a pale lilac or rose shade.

Happy shopping!
