Clinique Chubby Foundation Stick
I’d been dying to try this for ages. When I looked at it first, there was a bit of, ‘what do I actually do with this, just draw on my face?’
But it actually is that simple. it’s really easy to blend and it’s the quickest I’ve ever put foundation on. It’s also really travel-friendly for touch-ups during the day. My only mark against it would be it didn’t last throughout the day as my Urban Decay foundation does (review here), but it’s an absolute lifesaver when it I need extra coverage or touch-ups because it’s so handy. It’s not a bad price for a high-end brand foundation at €32, particularly because I think one stick would last quite a while.
No7 Beautifully Defined Contour Kit & Brush
We got this handy compact and brush in our goody bags when we attended An Evening with Lindy West in Conversation with Louise O’Neill. Once we stopped fan-girling, I looked in my goody bag and was already excited for the brush. This contour compact is one of my favourite products at the moment. As a contour & highlighting novice, I need something easy to use. I find powders much easier to blend than creams and I manage much better with one shade for each job.
This is a dream, especially when you have the brush to go with it. The highlighter is matte and really subtle so you’re in no danger of putting too much on, while the angled contour brush makes it really easy to apply and blend. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to try contouring and wants to get it right the first time. The double-ended brush is €20 and well worth the investment if you don’t have one and the compact itself is €17.50. Remember though, Boots often have “Buy 1 get 1 half price” on No7 products and we all have those vouchers for €7.50 off from our last Boots purchase!

Benefit The POREfessional – primer
I’ve already mentioned that I’m a Bene-fiend, but if there was only one Benefit product that I could recommend across the board, it would be this one. It’s considered one of their hero products (it has since become a range of its own) and for good reason. My favourite thing about it is probably the texture. It’s so soft and gives the smoothest finish to your skin before you start applying make up. It blurs my pores and even my spots a little and makes it easier to apply concealer. It also helps my make up last longer when I have it on. It’s not one of my cheaper picks, at €34 but it’s a desert island product for me, so worth every penny.
