This Works Sleep Plus Hair Elixir
This is new to the This Works range. I had tried the Deep Sleep Pillow Spray before and found it effective, but I do find it a bit strange lying on a slightly damp pillow for a minute. I also found myself using a good few sprays to get the scent to last. This hair elixir solves both of those problems for me and it’s an amazing sleep aid. I was lucky to get to try it through work but it retails for about €33 and is available in Arnotts and Harvey Nichols, as well as on their website here. It smells like lavender and it’s quite strong so 1-2 sprays in your hair will do the job. According to the bottle;
It’s a motion-activated sleep aid and hair treatment in one for healthy-looking, manageable hair upon waking. It has a time-release system combining pure essential oils for sleep with hair boosting Sunflower Extract and botanical oils of Argan, Jojoba & Baobab.
I’m always knocked out before the smell disappears and I can feel my eyes instantly get heavier once I use it. My one warning would be not to use it every night just because you can. I think your body would get quite dependent on it and it’s important that you’re able to fall asleep on your own, but this is amazing for those nights you feel like you’re tossing and turning or you’re just a bit wired on a work night and you need to get to sleep. Not to mention, the more sparingly you need it, the longer it lasts. As for the hair benefits, my one concern is always will that extra product make my hair greasy. I have naturally oily hair anyway, and I’m always conscious of not using too many products. This spray definitely doesn’t make my hair greasy and the scent lasts so my hair always feels and smells really clean.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation
I have a tendency to jump from one foundation to the other, mostly because I usually find something I don’t like about them. Whether there’s no ‘perfect shade’ for me, it leaves my skin patchy, it doesn’t last or it leaves my skin too shiny, a lot of foundations that other people love usually do something to my skin that I don’t like, so it’s safe to say I’m not easily pleased. However, I may have found my perfect foundation now. I’ve been trialing the Naked Skin powder foundation from Urban Decay for the last couple of weeks and I have to say I love it, which is a big deal when I’m usually so skeptical of powder foundations. It can be used wet or dry, although I’ve only been using it dry and I expected it to do most if not all of the things I hate. I expected it to dry out my skin and leave patches. I expected it not to last, and I expected it to not have enough coverage. It actually exceeded all of those points. My skin is quite oily and quite shiny so the powder consistency worked for me, and I found myself needing almost no pressed powder. It also covered any red patches or blemishes a lot before concealer. It retails at €33 and you can get it in Debenhams.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye
This is one of best eye creams I’ve tried and I’ve been using it every night for the past couple of years. I love Kiehl’s products (except for the price tag) and they’d be very treaty for me, but this one I would happily buy over and over again because you only need the tiniest amount so it lasts ages. I used to have really dark circles under my eyes (I still do after a long week or a very late night) but this really does restore them. It’s one of the only eye creams I see such a noticeable difference. It has a €30 price tag but I haven’t had to replace mine yet so it’s definitely a good investment. You can buy Kiehl’s products in Arnotts and they have their own store in Dundrum Shopping Centre and Wicklow Street in Dublin city centre.
